What to know about BABY Gaps

Baby GAPS is one of the best ways to set your children up for a healthy physical and mental life! Baby GAPS is probably the easiest and most fun way to do GAPS.

As babies are tasting their first foods after breast milk or formula, they are a blank canvas! They don’t know stereotypes associated with the taste of liver and they won’t get bored of meat stock. This is the perfect time to ensure that your baby’s gut is healed and sealed so that he has a strong immune system and well-operating digestive system so allergies, deficiencies, toxicities do not pose threats to his little body.

Baby GAPS is especially important if your baby has had any health issues, has been on formula, or has received any medications (including vaccinations). It is also advised if either parent has (or had in the past) any health problems including digestive problems, allergies, mental health issues, heart concerns, chronic pain, fertility concerns, skin issues, or has used any medications in the last few years.

How long does baby gaps last?

Baby GAPS technically starts when the baby starts tasting something other than breastmilk for formula (usually between 4-6 months), and lasts until at least 1 year of age. This length of time can be elongated if the breastfeeding mother does Full GAPS while still nursing, and it can last until well after the baby’s 1st birthday, depending on the child’s needs.
