Vaccines & Immunizations

Vaccines do not necessarily equate immunity. We used to think that antibodies equaled immunity, but research has now shown that this is not true. Immunity is more complex than we fully understand, especially in the traditional medical model. Much research is also coming out that suggests that getting childhood diseases is actually an important piece in the development of a child’s immune system, and perhaps should even be considered normal stages of development.

Our clinics’ vaccine policy

We believe in parent’s choice. We believe it’s a parent’s choice to make medical decisions for their child. We believe our role is to provide guidance and information to you so you can make an informed decision specific to yourself and your child. No matter what decision you make for your child in regards to vaccines, we can help their body be best supported. And if an adverse reaction does happen, we are here to help their body recover.

If you live in the state of Colorado, legislation SB163, is in effect for the 2021 and beyond school year. Below are the options that are available as a parent:

Medical Exemptions from Vaccination:

If you choose not to give some or all vaccinations to your children and wish to send them to a public or private school, they may be qualified for medical exemptions. These are only obtained for each individual vaccinations based on exclusion criteria from the vaccine manufacturers or the CDC and other governing entities.

We are happy to review requests for medical exemptions and provide medical exemptions on a case by case basis.

Non-Medical Exemptions from Vaccination:

If you do not qualify for medical exemptions, but still do not wish your child to receive some or all vaccinations, you can take a non-medical exemption.

These exemptions are available, and the current law gives you two options to obtain a non-medical exemption. The first option is is to complete an online education module and to register your child in the statewide tracking system.

The second option is to have a provider sign off on your beliefs and our clinic will gladly do that for you if this exemption is your choice. We will only update your information to the statewide tracking system upon your request. Established patients, please contact the Loveland office to coordinate your exemption. If you are not an established patient, you must schedule an appointment to become established before receiving your exemption signature. If you need your exemption before an appointment is available, please call the Loveland office.

Homeoprophylaxsis:
(Alternative to Vaccinations)

This is a nontoxic alternative to vaccinations. Research has shown HP to be up to 90% effective in disease prevention. We highly recommend exploring this choice for your family.

HP is done under an HP supervisor. We work frequently with a local supervisor. Talk to your provider during your appointment for HP supervisor recommendations.

While highly recommended, at this time HP does not fulfill vaccination requirements of the Colorado State Law.

Support During Vaccinations:

If you choose to vaccinate your child, there are ways to prevent negative reactions from your child’s immune and detoxification systems.

It’s important to establish a healthy gut flora and ensure your child’s liver and other detoxification pathways are working correctly.

I do not recommend vaccinations for any child showing symptoms of a leaky gut, including eczema, allergies, asthma, and any diarrhea or constipation. If your child is showing any of these symptoms, I recommend working with me to heal them before proceeding with vaccinations.

Vaccine Injury Recovery:

Vaccine injury is real! But so is vaccine injury recovery.

Vaccine injury is a broad term used to describe symptoms the body has when it’s unable to fully process the toxins and disease material in a vaccination. This can be fairly mild and subtle or extreme and noticeable. Some symptoms of a vaccine reaction include

  • extreme sleepiness or consistent disrupted sleep

  • increased fussiness or irritability and mood swings

  • rashes or other skin eruptions

  • regression in developmental milestones such as speech, fine motor or gross motor skills

  • seizure activity including absence seizures (staring blankly for a few seconds)

  • decreased immune function

  • pauses in breathing while sleeping

  • changes in personality or activity that you notice as a parent. Trust your instinct! You know your child well.

If you notice any of these changes in your child, what do you do? Thankfully, the body has an amazing ability to heal. We simply we need to give it the help and support it needs. When the body has a negative reaction to a vaccine, it’s struggling in one or more of the following areas.

  • Toxin Overload

  • Un-expelled Disease Material

  • Extreme Inflammatory Reaction

  • Allergic Reaction to a Adjuvant (Additive)

If the body is unable to “clear” or resolve the inflammation and immune response after a vaccination injection, we can come alongside the body to help. If your child’s reaction is mild, simple things like detox baths, meat stock, fermented foods, and immune support can help. If you’re not noticing an improvement quickly or their symptoms are more extreme, then they likely need to be put on the GAPS Protocol and potentially work with specific GAPS Practitioners and Homeopathic practitioners to help their bodies quickly recover.
